Synopsys Showcases Agentic AI and Silicon Design Advances at 2026 DAC Chips to Systems Conference

At this year's DAC Chips to Systems Conference, Synopsys is highlighting its latest work in agentic AI and advanced chip design technology, aimed at helping customers move AI-powered products from initial concept to production faster, with better quality, efficiency, and precision along the way.

Several announcements accompany the event. Synopsys and NVIDIA unveiled new fully autonomous, long-running AI agent capabilities for chip and electronics system design, built on Synopsys' AgentEngineer technology and powered by NVIDIA's Nemotron models running on NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform, with security handled through NVIDIA's OpenShell runtime environment. Separately, Synopsys is advancing agentic AI chip design work with AMD and Microsoft, introducing what's described as the first autonomous EDA (electronic design automation) workflows built on Microsoft Discovery, intended to speed up the process of taking a chip from initial specification through to finished silicon.
