Arteris Deepens Partnership with Arm to Strengthen Chip-Level Security Verification

Arteris, a semiconductor technology provider, has expanded its partnership with Arm to broaden the use of Arteris hardware security assurance tools across Arm's CPU core designs, building on five years of collaboration between the two companies.

The expansion centers on Cycuity Radix, an Arteris product that Arm has already used successfully on select CPU designs and is now rolling out more broadly across additional next-generation processor programs. The tool is meant to help identify and address potential security weaknesses in processor designs before they become real vulnerabilities, essentially giving engineers visibility into how different parts of a chip's design relate to each other and where possible attack surfaces might exist, so issues can be caught and fixed systematically rather than discovered later.

What makes this notable is where in the process Arm applies it: rather than treating security as a check performed after a chip is manufactured, Arm is building Cycuity Radix into the design flow itself. The process starts with architectural and micro-architectural risk assessments that identify a chip's most critical assets and evaluate them against known threat models to define concrete security objectives.
