LG Chem Enters Semiconductor Stripper Market With Mass Supply Deal to Amkor

LG Chem  announced on July 16 that it has begun mass production and supply of semiconductor strippers to Amkor Technology, marking the company's first entry into the semiconductor stripper market and a step forward in its broader strategy to expand its semiconductor materials business.

Amkor Technology is a global leader in outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT), providing packaging and testing services to major semiconductor manufacturers worldwide.

A semiconductor stripper is a key process material used to remove photoresist and residue left on semiconductor substrates after circuit patterning. As semiconductor circuits continue to shrink, the effectiveness of residue removal has become increasingly important, directly influencing manufacturing yield and product reliability, making stripper performance a significant factor in overall semiconductor quality.

LG Chem entered the stripper market by drawing on the technological expertise and customer support capabilities it built through its display stripper business. The company demonstrated the competitiveness of its technology by successfully passing Amkor's rigorous qualification process with its first semiconductor stripper product.
