Rapidus, Cadence Team Up on Agentic AI to Speed Up Advanced-Node SoC Design

Rapidus and Cadence  have announced a collaboration aimed at advancing agentic AI for advanced-node system-on-chip (SoC) design by integrating the Cadence InnoStack AI Super Agent into the Rapidus AI-Agentic Design Solution (Raads). The partnership combines Rapidus's AI-native design and manufacturing ecosystem for advanced-node semiconductors with Cadence's agentic AI design orchestration technology, with the goal of helping design teams improve productivity, speed up time to market, and enhance design quality across the SoC design lifecycle. As part of the collaboration, Rapidus is targeting up to a 2x improvement in design turnaround time compared to traditional design flows.

The buildout of AI infrastructure, along with the coming wave of physical AI-powered systems, requires tight, system-level coordination across semiconductor design, manufacturing, packaging, and systems, and agentic AI is seen as a critical enabler for this next generation of advanced SoCs. As part of the announcement, Rapidus is expanding its Raads lineup with two new tools, Raads Navigator and Raads Indicator, designed to strengthen quality assurance and help designers resolve design issues and challenges.
