Intel Announces €5 Billion Investment for Capacity Expansion at Ireland Semiconductor Campus
Intel has announced a €5 billion ($5.7 billion) capital investment at its Leixlip campus in Ireland as the next phase of site capacity expansion.
The move follows global demand for AI and high-performance computing that requires advanced silicon for AI Factories. The investment scales capacity to produce Intel Xeon 6 and next-generation Intel Xeon processors built on the Intel 3 node. It expands current production output, advances research and development activities, and utilises existing cleanroom space while addressing needs in Europe’s semiconductor supply chain.

Work includes upgrading existing fabrication facilities and installing leading-edge manufacturing equipment. Infrastructure changes feature expansion of the automated track system to connect disparate campus modules into a single high-velocity production environment.
The €5 billion capital expenditure programme started earlier this year. It is expected to involve specialised tradespeople for construction and equipment installation, along with full-time high-tech jobs at Intel.
Naga Chandrasekaran, Executive Vice President, Chief Technology and Operations Officer and General Manager of Intel Foundry, stated: “This €5 billion in...
