Global Semiconductor Market to Hit $1.51 Trillion in 2026 as May Sales Reach Record $120.6 Billion
Worldwide semiconductor sales reached $120.6 billion in May 2026, according to SIA data compiled by WSTS as a three-month moving average. This represents a 9.2 percent increase from April 2026 ($110.5 billion) and a 104.1 percent rise from May 2025 ($59.1 billion). The May total marks the highest monthly sales figure recorded and the 15th consecutive month of month-to-month growth.

The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization has raised its Spring 2026 semiconductor market forecast for 2026 and 2027, while the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported record monthly sales in May.
WSTS now projects the global semiconductor market to grow 90 percent in 2026, reaching USD 1.51 trillion. The Memory segment is expected to surge around 250 percent year-over-year to more than USD 800 billion, with Logic growing 37 percent. Other categories are forecast to expand at more moderate rates: Microprocessors 20 percent, Analog 10 percent, Discrete Semiconductors 8 percent, and Sensors and Optoelectronics 3 percent.
