Valeo Secures Contract for Next-Generation Corner Radar with North American EV Manufacturer

Valeo has secured a contract to supply its next-generation corner radar suite, including hardware and embedded software, to a North American electric vehicle manufacturer for L2+ and L3 systems. The new radar technology provides 50 times the resolution of previous generations. It supports safety features such as Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), and Safe Exit Protection (SEP), as well as driving and parking functions. The system can also enable “Eyes off” functions added via over-the-air updates.

The radar platform is modular, allowing the OEM to customize hardware configurations for different autonomy levels from entry to Level 3 without increasing hardware complexity. It supports over-the-air updates for performance upgrades and additional functions. The suite is designed for global compliance, including 5-star NCAP ratings and General Safety Regulation (GSR) requirements.
