Exar presenting Hadoop Economics at Open Server Summit

Exar Corporation said it will be presenting at this year's Open Server Summit on Wednesday, November 12, in Santa Clara, CA. Ravi Lambi, Director of Software Engineering for Exar's Data Compression and Security Business Unit will present "Improve Hadoop Economics, Performance and Security with Compression and Encryption" as part of the application acceleration track.

Exar's hardware accelerated compression solution for Apache Hadoop, AltraHD, integrates seamlessly into the Apache Hadoop software stack and automatically compresses all files using the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), as well as all intermediate data. AltraHD provides up to 2x the performance and 90% reduction in storage costs over native Hadoop, says Exar.
