MStar licenses Ravi's DivX HEVC tech for its STB SoCs

Rovi has announced that MStar has licensed DivX HEVC technology for integration into its SoCs for set-top boxes and DTVs.

“Integrating support for 4K is key to our continued efforts to provide all-in-one system-on-a-chip solutions for a new generation of set-top boxes and DTVs,” said Bill Hsiung, Head of Corporate SW Marketing Dept., MStar. “As a long time supplier of advanced video technologies for our solutions, DivX was a natural choice to provide HEVC capabilities that can help us meet our customers’ needs to support the new compression standard and advanced entertainment experiences.”
