Bourns announced the MH1608A Series High Current Chip Ferrite Beads, an AEC-Q200-compliant automotive-grade component family designed for EMI suppression in space-constrained electronic designs. The series features a compact 1.6 × 0.8 × 0.8 mm footprint and supports rated currents up to 5 A with low DC resistance. It offers impedance values from 30 Ω to 1000 Ω at 100 MHz for broadband noise suppression.

The components are intended for high-density PCB assemblies in automotive power supplies and other applications where high current density and EMI control are required within limited board space.
“High-current automotive designs often require EMI suppression components that do not become a thermal or electrical bottleneck,” said Edward Liu, Product Line Manager, Magnetics at Bourns. “The MH1608A Series is designed to support higher current handling in a compact footprint while meeting AEC-Q200 requirements, which helps simplify component selection in dense automotive layouts.”
