ROHM has developed the RESDxVx series of Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) protection diodes. The series provides low dynamic resistance and ultra-low capacitance for high-speed data communication applications.
Demand for external ESD protection has increased as high-speed data transmission and device miniaturization advance in industrial and automotive markets. System-level ESD requirements have become stricter, while IC tolerance to electrical overstress and ESD has decreased. The diodes address the challenge of maintaining signal integrity above 10 Gbps while providing robust IC protection.

The RESDxVx series achieves ultra-low terminal capacitance of 0.24 pF (bidirectional) and 0.48 pF (unidirectional). Dynamic resistance is reduced to 0.28 Ω, resulting in a clamping voltage approximately 40% lower than conventional products.
The lineup includes models in DSN0603-2J and DFN1006-2W packages. Specific models such as RESD3V3BASAFH and RESD3V3UASAFH in the DFN1006-2W package are AEC-Q101 qualified for automotive applications.
Selected Product Specifications:
