Qorvo announced it is enabling Ultra-Wideband (UWB) real-time location systems (RTLS) at enterprise scale by integrating UWB technology into enterprise Wi-Fi access points (EAPs). The approach combines FiRa and Omlox industry standards with existing Wi-Fi infrastructure, allowing precise real-time location services without requiring dedicated RTLS anchor networks. This reduces deployment cost and complexity while addressing system fragmentation.

Qorvo has over a decade of UWB experience with prior deployments in healthcare, mining, logistics, and automotive manufacturing environments. The company has achieved FiRa-compliant RTLS deployments on EAPs in healthcare and logistics, as well as Omlox-compliant deployments in automotive manufacturing. It now supports both FiRa and Omlox standards within enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure for interoperable RTLS.

At the center of the solution is Qorvo’s new QPK3000 module, designed for tags and end devices. It enables interoperable UWB functionality across EAPs, dedicated anchors, and other UWB infrastructure.
