Siemens has announced Solido Characterizer software, the latest addition to its Solido Characterization Suite. The software uses predictive AI technologies for SPICE-based Liberty file generation across process nodes. It delivers 7x greater throughput, reducing Liberty file generation from weeks to days. This is achieved through a faster AI engine and advanced Liberty Variation Format (LVF) techniques that provide 5x faster characterization, combined with Solido LibSPICE, which adds a further 2x+ performance boost.

Solido Characterizer is designed for foundries and in-house chip design teams. It addresses requirements for new processes, tighter margins, increased corners, and emerging formats such as LVF. The tool integrates with Solido Analytics for real-time quality assurance, resource monitoring, and interactive debugging. It also integrates with Solido Generator for AI model training to produce additional library views and with Solido Fuse, built on the Fuse EDA AI system, for generative and agentic AI workflows.
Amit Gupta, chief AI strategy officer, senior vice president and general manager, Siemens EDA, stated that the solution delivers intelligent automation for library development.
James Culp, fellow, Design Enablement at GlobalFoundries, said the tool maintained production accuracy with 20 to 30 percent speedup in internal flows and was quick to adopt.
Greg Pauls, president of Anatrix, noted its role in characterization of radiation-hardened digital gate libraries. Solido Characterizer is available now. It will be showcased at Siemens’ U2U EU event on May 12, 2026, in Munich.
