Murata Manufacturing has begun mass production of seven AEC-Q200-qualified multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) in the GCM series. Five of the MLCCs are rated at 2.5 Vdc to 4 Vdc and target IC peripheral circuits in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD) applications. The other two MLCCs are rated at 25 Vdc for in-vehicle power line applications.

The parts achieve the world’s largest capacitance for their rated voltage and size class, based on Murata’s proprietary ceramic materials, particle refinement, and uniformity technologies.

In the low-voltage lineup:
- GCM035D70E225ME02: 2.5 Vdc, 2.2 µF, 0201-inch size (0.6 mm × 0.3 mm)
- GCM31CD70E107ME36: 2.5 Vdc, 100 µF, 1206-inch size (3.2 mm × 1.6 mm)
- GCM035D70G225MEC2: 4 Vdc, 2.2 µF, 0201-inch size (0.6 mm × 0.3 mm)
- GCM31CD70G107ME36: 4 Vdc, 100 µF, 1206-inch size (3.2 mm × 1.6 mm)
- GCM32ED70G227MEC4: 4 Vdc, 220 µF, 1210-inch size (3.2 mm × 2.5 mm)

In the medium-voltage lineup for power lines:
- GCM155D71E105KE36: 25 Vdc, 1 µF, 0402-inch size (1.0 mm × 0.5 mm)
- GCM31CC71E226ME36: 25 Vdc, 22 µF, 1206-inch size (3.2 mm × 1.6 mm)

The 1206-inch size 100 µF parts reduce PCB mounting area by approximately 36% compared to previous 1210-inch equivalents. The 0402-inch size 1 µF part reduces PCB mounting area by approximately 61% compared to previous 0603-inch versions.

The MLCCs address requirements for higher capacitance around ICs, PCB space constraints, and power line stabilization in ADAS and AD systems. They are qualified for automotive use and support stable operation under voltage fluctuations.

Mass production of the seven MLCCs started in April 2026.
