Panasonic has announced a line extension of its ECW-FJ Series Polypropylene Film Capacitors designed for automotive applications. The capacitors are intended for DC/DC and AC/DC converter circuits in xEV systems and for high-frequency, high-current environments.
Specifications include:
Operating temperature range: -40°C to 110°C
Rated voltages: 800 V and 1100 V
Capacitance range: 1 µF to 8 µF

The series incorporates an integrated fuse function to prevent short circuit failures. It offers thermal shock resistance from -40°C to 85°C for 1000 cycles and humidity resistance at 40°C, 95% RH under rated voltage for 1000 hours. High endurance is listed as 125°C at rated voltage × 1.2 for 1000 hours.
The ECW-FJ Series is positioned as a cost-effective alternative to other film capacitor series and complies with AEC-Q200 and RoHS standards.
