Valeo and 2CRSi announced a new outdoor autonomous immersion-cooled edge data center solution developed specifically for Indian telecom operators. The prototype, set to be unveiled at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi from February 16-20, 2026, builds on the partnership initiated in November 2025. It combines Valeo’s automotive-grade thermal management expertise with 2CRSi’s server architecture and manufacturing capabilities to create a water-free, maintenance-free immersion-cooled system tailored to India’s climate and digital infrastructure needs.
The solution is engineered to operate in ambient temperatures exceeding 50°C, high humidity, dust-heavy environments, and flood-prone locations. It functions as a compact, standalone unit without requiring dedicated buildings, water loops, chillers, or complex maintenance.
This design reduces deployment complexity, lowers capital expenditure (CAPEX) and operational expenditure (OPEX), and improves total cost of ownership (TCO) compared to conventional edge deployments. It applies automotive-grade reliability standards, originally developed for wide temperature-range operations, to edge computing infrastructure.
Industrialization will take place in India, utilizing Valeo’s facilities in Pune and Chennai. The roadmap for 2026 includes pilot production, field validation, and certification processes, with start of production (SOP) targeted for November 2026.
The system achieves zero water consumption, addressing constraints in water-stressed regions. It replaces traditional air cooling (annualized PUE ~1.6) with immersion cooling (PUE < 1.1), reducing total infrastructure energy consumption by 30-35%. For a 1.5 kW IT load in outdoor conditions such as Bengaluru, this translates to annual energy savings of 6-8 MWh. The solution also contributes to a reduced carbon footprint through simplified infrastructure, lower mechanical dependency, and decentralized deployment.
Christophe Périllat, CEO of Valeo, stated that India is a priority region under the Elevate 2028 strategic plan. He noted that while Valeo leads in automotive technology, this collaboration extends its expertise to new industries, meeting demand for resilient, energy-efficient edge solutions driven by India’s AI ecosystem and 5G expansion.
Alain Wilmouth, Founder and CEO of 2CRSi, described India as a strategic market for edge computing and said the combination of Valeo’s thermal management with 2CRSi’s immersion-cooled server architecture delivers high performance and optimized energy efficiency in extreme environmental conditions.
Valeo and 2CRSi will exhibit the solution at Booth 14.5 F (French Pavilion, Hall 14) during the AI Impact Summit. A featured speaking session titled “Towards India AI Revolution: Next-Generation Data Center Cooling Approach” is scheduled for February 17, 2026, at 17:00 IST at Bharat Mandapam Convention Center, New Delhi.
