Diodes Incorporated Launches API772x RobustISO Dual-Channel Digital Isolators for High-Voltage Applications
Diodes Incorporated has announced the API772x RobustISO family of dual-channel digital isolators. This series marks the company's entry into the isolation device market. The devices target applications in industrial automation, new energy power systems, and data center power supplies, where reliable isolation for digital signals is required amid increasing demands.
The API772x isolators comply with reinforced and basic isolation standards from VDE, UL, and CQC. They provide a 5,000 VRMS isolation rating for one minute under UL 1577 and an 8,000 VPK isolation rating per DIN EN IEC 60747-17 (VDE 0884-17). The maximum surge isolation voltage reaches 12,800 VPK, with a breakdown voltage exceeding 12 kV, compared to under 10 kV in comparable products.
The isolators use a capacitive isolation barrier with thickness greater than 25 µm, employing an ON-OFF keying (OOK) modulation scheme for data transfer. This design yields a predicted operational lifetime of over 40 years under stringent conditions.
Data rates reach up to 100 Mbps, supporting various transmission protocols. The devices feature a minimum common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 150 kV/µs, along with strong electromagnetic immunity and low emissions for reliable operation in noisy electrical environments.
The series operates across a supply voltage range of 2.5 V to 5.5 V...
