MediaTek Announces Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500 Chipsets for Flagship and Premium Smartphones

MediaTek announced the Dimensity 9500s and Dimensity 8500, the latest additions to its Dimensity family of mobile chipsets. The company stated that both chipsets target flagship and premium smartphone segments, with features focused on performance, energy efficiency, AI processing, imaging, gaming, and wireless connectivity.

JC Hsu, corporate senior vice president at MediaTek and general manager of the Wireless Communications Business Unit, said the company is increasing investment in advanced technologies to make high-end products available to more users. He described the two chipsets as providing flagship and premium smartphone experiences while delivering performance and power efficiency.

The Dimensity 9500s uses a 3nm process and an All Big Core architecture. Its octa-core CPU consists of one Cortex-X925 ultra core clocked at up to 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 premium cores, and four Cortex-A720 performance cores. It integrates the Immortalis-G925 GPU, which supports advanced ray tracing for mobile games. The chipset includes adaptive game technology 3.0 (MAGT 3.0) and frame technology 3.0 (MFRC 3.0) to improve energy efficiency and extend battery life during gaming.
