Toshiba Releases 40V eFuse ICs for Circuit Protection

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has added five new products to its lineup of electronic fuses (eFuse ICs): TCKE601RA, TCKE601RL, TCKE602RM, TCKE603RA, and TCKE603RL in the 40V TCKE6 series.

The new products provide short-circuit protection, current limiting, overvoltage protection, and thermal protection. These functions protect circuits from overcurrent and overvoltage that physical fuses cannot provide. The eFuse ICs integrate multiple protection functions into a single device, reducing the need for discrete components.

The TCKE6 series has a 40V rating and supports input voltage from 4.4V to 30V, suitable for 5V, 9V, 12V, and 24V systems. On-resistance is 52mΩ (typ.). The devices are housed in a TSOP6F package measuring 2.9mm × 2.8mm (typ.). They are intended for industrial and consumer equipment applications.

The series includes variants with a FLAG function for detecting abnormal conditions, an EN function for operation control, and one product allowing mode switching between auto-retry and latched recovery via external signals. Recovery types are auto-retry or latched.

Toshiba said it will continue to develop eFuse IC products and expand the lineup.
