Vishay Intertechnology Unveils DLA 04051 Series Polymer Capacitors for Aerospace and Military Applications

Vishay Intertechnology,  has introduced the DLA 04051 series of vPolyTan polymer surface-mount chip capacitors, designed for high-reliability applications in aerospace, military, and space (AMS) markets. These capacitors comply with the latest Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) 04051 military specifications.

The DLA 04051 series offers an ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR) of 25 mΩ, lower than traditional tantalum capacitors, and is suitable for power supplies, radios, radars, transponders, and energy storage in AMS systems. The capacitors provide a capacitance range of 4.7 μF to 680 μF and support voltage ratings from 2.5 V to 63 V. They have been validated for long-term reliability through 2000 hours of testing at 125 °C.

The series demonstrates mechanical reliability, with shock resistance up to 500g, vibration resistance meeting MIL-STD-202-204 Level D, and the ability to withstand 10 thermal shock cycles per MIL-STD-202-107. The DLA 04051 series serves as a second source to Yageo/Kemet offerings, ensuring compatibility for critical military and aerospace systems.
