Lantronix announced that its FOX Series telematic edge gateways have been chosen by a Tier-1 U.S. wireless operator to monitor over 50,000 cell site backup generators. The deployment, part of a multi-year agreement, aims to digitally transform remote asset management for the operator’s backup power systems, which support mobile services, medical devices, and public safety systems during power outages.
The FOX Series gateways, integrated with Lantronix’s Percepxion platform, enable real-time monitoring of generator metrics such as fuel levels, battery status, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. This allows data-driven servicing, reduces manual inspections, minimizes site visits, and ensures compliance with environmental regulations. The solution is designed to enhance network reliability and reduce operational costs.
