Panasonic Introduces Compact EVP-BB Series Tactile Switches with IP67 Rating for Small-Scale Applications

Panasonic has launched the EVP-BB Series Tactile Switches, designed for surface-mount applications with dimensions of 2.6 x 1.6 x 0.53–0.57 mm. These switches feature a laser-welded design, achieving an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance while maintaining a sharp tactile feel. The design also prevents actuator peel-off under side-load or impact and withstands typical drop tests.

The EVP-BB Series is RoHS/REACH compliant and suitable for compact applications. Key specifications include a snap-action, push-on type single-pole single-throw (SPST) configuration, a rating of 10μA 2V DC to 20mA 15V DC (resistive load), contact resistance up to 500 mΩ, insulation resistance of at least 50 MΩ at 100V DC, and dielectric withstanding voltage of 250 V AC for one minute. Bounce time is 10 ms maximum for both ON and OFF states, with a short push travel and operating life ranging from 200,000 to 500,000 cycles. Operating and storage temperatures range from -40°C to +85°C (bulk) and -20°C to +60°C (taping).
