TDK Expands CN Series with 1000V 22 nF C0G MLCCs in 3225 Size for Automotive Resonance Applications
TDK has expanded its CN series of low-resistance soft-termination multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) to include a product with 22 nF capacitance in the 3225 case size (3.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 mm – L x W x T) and C0G characteristics at 1000 V. Mass production of this series began in September 2025. The capacitors feature terminal resistance equivalent to regular products, achieved through optimization of their resin electrode structure.

The development addresses the growing use of multiple resonance capacitors in series-parallel circuits for applications such as LLC resonant circuits and wireless charging. As these applications require higher power, demand has increased for high-voltage, large-capacitance components. Resin electrodes in these capacitors prevent placement cracks from external stress, improving reliability, though traditional resin electrodes have higher resistance values. TDK optimized the resin electrode structures in the CN series to reduce resistance significantly.
These MLCCs provide C0G characteristics, including low losses and capacitance stability over temperature and voltage variations. The resin electrode structures also offer reliability against external stress and reduced loss, supporting use as...
