Keysight Launches 250 GHz VNA Frequency Extenders and Calibration Kit for Next-Gen Semiconductor and High-Speed Network Testing

Keysight announced the introduction of two millimeter-wave frequency extender modules, the NA5305A (up to 170 GHz) and NA5307A (up to 250 GHz), alongside the 85065A Precision Calibration Kit 0.5mm. These accessories, when paired with Keysight’s PNA/PNA-X Vector Network Analyzers and N5292A Test Set Controller, enable single-sweep broadband S-parameter measurements from 100 kHz (or 10 MHz) to 170/250 GHz. Existing users of 110 GHz/120 GHz VNAs can upgrade their systems to leverage these new capabilities.

The 85065A Calibration Kit supports precise measurements up to 250 GHz, facilitating characterization of sub-THz on-wafer or packaged components such as optical RF drivers, TIAs, PCBs, cables, packages, and passive devices. These accessories simplify test setups, allowing engineers to validate designs and reduce design and verification cycles for high-speed interconnects and next-generation semiconductors used in 1.6 Tb/s and 3.2 Tb/s networks, as well as sub-THz wireless research.

Key features of the broadband VNA accessories include a system dynamic range of 105 dB at 170 GHz for testing lossy passive components, high-rejection filters, and active devices under various power levels. They also support differential meas...
