Vishay Introduces 3.3 V to 36 V ESD Protection Diodes with High Current Ratings for Automotive and Industrial Applications
Vishay Intertechnology, has launched the VGSOTxx and VGSOTxxC series of Automotive Grade ESD protection diodes, operating from 3.3 V to 36 V in an SOT-23 package. These diodes provide lower thermal resistance than the previous GSOTxx/xxC series, supporting peak pulse power ratings up to 540 W and current ratings up to 44 A at an 8/20 µs pulse.
The diodes are designed for applications including automotive electronics, fuel cells, smart systems, energy monitoring, industrial automation, motor drives, power tools, computers, consumer appliances, healthcare devices, telecom infrastructure, medical instrumentation, and military electronic warfare systems. The VGSOTxx series offers unidirectional ESD protection, while the VGSOTxxC series, with a dual common anode configuration, supports both unidirectional and bidirectional use. The VGSOTxxC’s dual diodes can be paralleled to double surge power ratings, line capacitance, and reverse leakage current.
Compliant with RoHS, halogen-free, and Vishay Green standards, the diodes meet IEC 61000-4-2 and ISO 10605 (±30 kV air and contact discharge) and AEC-Q101 human body model class H3B (>8 kV) requirements. They serve as drop-in replacements for Vishay’s GSOT di...
