Holtek Unveils HT32F66746G and HT32F66546G SoCs for BLDC Motor Control in Electric Vehicles and Robotics

Holtek has introduced two new Arm Cortex-M0+ based SoCs, the HT32F66746G and HT32F66546G, designed for brushless DC (BLDC) motor control in low- and mid-voltage systems powered by lithium batteries or DC sources. The HT32F66746G features a 110V N/N gate-driver with an integrated 5V low quiescent current LDO, while the HT32F66546G includes a 48V N/N gate-driver with LDO. These devices target applications such as 2-wheeled electric bicycles, robotic joints, and garden tools.

Both SoCs operate at up to 80 MHz with a Flash accelerator, offering 64 KB of Flash Program Memory and 8 KB of SRAM Data Memory. They include communication interfaces such as CAN, UART, USART, I²C, and SPI for device integration. The integrated hardware CORDIC and PID engines enhance computational performance and control precision, reducing Field-Oriented Control (FOC) calculation time by over 30%. Additional features include a 2.5Msps 12-bit A/D converter, two comparators, four amplifiers, and support for 1- to 3-shunt FOC control architecture. The devices also integrate PGA, CMP, DAC, and MCTM brake functions for overcurrent protection (OCP), with the MCTM triggering the ADC to read real-time phase current data for FOC algorithms in PMSM motor applications.

Available in 48-pin LQFP-EP and 46-pin QFN packages, these SoCs are suited for space-constrained motor controllers and optimized P...
