Toshiba Unveils Advanced CCD Linear Image Sensor for A3 Printers and Inspection Systems
Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has introduced the TCD2728DG, a lens-reduction type CCD linear image sensor designed for A3 multifunction printers and inspection systems. Shipments of the sensor began today.
The TCD2728DG features 7,500 image sensing elements, enabling scanning of A3-sized documents at 600 dpi resolution. It reduces random noise by approximately 40% compared to Toshiba’s previous TCD2726DG model, due to lower output amplifier gain. This noise reduction enhances image quality in multifunction printers. The sensor achieves a data rate of 100 MHz (50 MHz × 2 channels), supporting high-speed processing for large image volumes, making it suitable for line scan cameras in inspection systems, such as semiconductor and food sorting equipment.
The sensor includes a built-in timing generator circuit and CCD driver to simplify system development. It operates with a power supply voltage of 3.1 to 3.5 V for VAVDD, VDVDD, and VCKDVDD, and 9.5 to 10.5 V for VDD10. The pixel size is 4.7 × 4.7 μm, and the package is a WDIP32.
Toshiba plans to expand its product lineup to meet the growing demand for high-speed, high-resolution imaging and sensing technologies in multifunction...
