Magnachip Unveils 80V MXT MV MOSFET with TOLT Package for E-Scooters and LEVs in 2025

Magnachip Semiconductor has released a new 80V MXT MV MOSFET, model MDLT080N017RH, featuring a TOLT (TO-Leaded Top-Side Cooling) package. The company has started supplying this MOSFET to a major global electric motor manufacturer.

The TOLT package is designed to release heat from the top through a mounted metal heat sink, unlike conventional TOLL (TO-Leadless) packages that dissipate heat through the bottom. This structure reduces thermal resistance between the junction and the external environment, making it suitable for thermally demanding applications such as e-scooters and light electric vehicles (LEVs). Magnachip’s tests and simulations show the TOLT package achieves an average 22% reduction in junction temperature compared to standard TOLL packages, which extends application lifespan and improves system reliability. The package also supports compact and lightweight designs due to its high power density and efficient thermal flow, maintaining current-handling capability and thermal safety margins.
