Littelfuse has introduced the 5.0SMDJ-FB TVS Diode Series, a 5000 W surface-mount solution in a DO-214AB package designed to protect sensitive DC power lines from overvoltage transients. The series utilizes foldback technology, achieving up to 15% lower clamping voltage compared to traditional solutions while maintaining a Breakdown Voltage (VBR) above the Reverse Standoff Voltage (VR). This ensures reliable protection for downstream components, particularly next-generation DC/DC converters, without compromising system stability.
The 5.0SMDJ-FB Series offers a 5000 W peak pulse power rating, effective against electrical fast transients (EFT), electrostatic discharge (ESD), and other overvoltage conditions. It serves as a drop-in replacement for the legacy 5.0SMDJ Series, retaining the same compact DO-214AB (SMC) footprint. The diodes are suitable for applications such as Power over Ethernet (PoE) systems, AI and data center servers, ICT equipment power supplies, and industrial DC power distribution.
