Compact PTS647 Tactile Switch Series Upgraded with Noise Reduction and Dust Protection for Audio, Industrial, and Medical Applications
Littelfuse has relaunched its PTS647 Series Surface-Mounted Tactile Switch with design enhancements focused on noise reduction, durability, and dust resistance. The updated series, measuring 4.5 x 4.5 mm, is tailored for space-constrained PCB layouts and available in three heights with actuation force options of 1.0N, 1.8N, and 2.5N. Depending on the configuration, the switches support up to 500,000 actuations while maintaining consistent tactile feedback for compact devices.

The new variants feature a redesigned actuator to prevent internal rotation and reduce vibration-related noise, alongside dome-sealing tape for improved dust resistance and mechanical stability. These upgrades were developed following feedback from a leading wireless speaker manufacturer, where switch vibrations impacted audio fidelity. The noise-reduction feature, indicated by an āNā in the part number, is now standard across the updated PTS647 line.
The series targets consumer electronics (audio equipment, headsets, cameras), industrial systems (telecom infrastructure, network equipment, access control), and medical devices (monitoring and diagnostic interfaces). Key features include a compact 4.5 x 4.5 mm footprint, low-profile options s...
