TDK announces the launch of the HVC50, a high-voltage DC contactor designed to meet the rigorous demands of modern traction applications, energy storage systems, and megawatt charging systems. This innovative component is set to drive the green transformation towards an all-electric society, significantly reducing the carbon footprint.

Key features of the HVC50 include a ceramic arc chamber with a gas-filled design, which ensures rapid and safe current disconnection even under extreme conditions. The integrated mirror contact, compliant with IEC 60947-4-1, enhances operational safety by providing precise switching feedback. Its bidirectional capability allows currents to flow seamlessly in both directions, adding to its versatility. The dual-coil design supports operating voltages of 12 or 24 V, ensuring energy-efficient operation with a making power of 50 W and a steady-state power of just 6 W after 200 milliseconds.
Certified to CE, UKCA, and UL standards, the HVC50 aligns with global safety and performance benchmarks, making it suitable for use in various regions, including Europe, the US, and Asia.
The main terminals are bi-directional, allowing for current flow without polarity concerns. Additionally, the auxiliary contact is a mirror contact compliant with IEC 60947-4-1 standards. The HVC50 also features a dual coil with TVS diode termination and is RoHS compatible, ensuring it meets environmental and safety standards.
Key Data:
By addressing the growing demand for efficient and reliable power in ESS and MCS, the HVC50 is poised to accelerate the adoption of sustainable energy solutions and high-capacity charging infrastructures worldwide.
