Sustainability in electronics: The first ESD bag made of 100% recycled paper

Germany based WEBER Verpackungen has launched the world’s first antistatic bag made entirely from paper, the ESD Paper Bag, setting a new benchmark for sustainability and performance in the electronics industry. This pioneering product, dubbed "dissipative plus," offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic-based ESD (Electro Static Discharge) packaging. This product has won Worldstar Global Packaging Award 2025 from the World Packaging Organisation and  German Packaging Award 2024.

Electrostatic discharge poses a serious threat to sensitive electronic components like circuit boards and microchips. ESD packaging is essential to ensure safe transport and functionality, a need traditionally met by plastic solutions. The ESD Paper Bag disrupts this norm, crafted from 100% recycled paper that’s fully recyclable, resource-efficient.
