Date: 27/10/2023
Lantronix expanded its embedded product line for automotive systems with new latest generation of Snapdragon Ride and Cockpit Platforms, including the latest Snapdragon Ride Flex Platform, Lantronix’s new Snapdragon Ride SX Automotive Development Platform (ADP) is designed to swiftly create customizable infotainment, cluster and driver monitoring systems (DMS).

“With Qualcomm Technologies’ leading Snapdragon automotive solutions, we are able to provide automakers with resources, such as our new Snapdragon Ride SX ADP, to efficiently develop cutting-edge applications for next-generation vehicles,” said Jacques Issa, VP of Marketing at Lantronix.

Lantronix’s Snapdragon Ride SX ADP offers a backplane board to connect combination of multiple plug-in cards, including displays, cameras, Ethernet, Pcle and various test cards and connectors.

Engineered to support mixed criticality workloads that allow for the digital cockpit, ADAS and automated driving functions to co-exist on a single SoC, the Snapdragon Ride Flex Platform is designed to meet the highest level of automotive safety with Safety Element Out of Context (SEooC), a dedicated Automotive Safety Integrity Level D (ASIL-D) safety island, and comes pre-integrated with the industry-proven Snapdragon Ride Vision stack.

According to the Yole Group, the digital automotive cockpit processors segment is expected to grow from $2.9 billion in 2022 to $4.0 billion in 2028, which is driven by centralization into a cockpit domain controller as well as the growing importance of user-experience applications.

The latest-generation Qualcomm digital Snapdragon Cockpit Platform provides automakers with one of the industry’s highest performance SoCs that come equipped to meet the user experiences of the next generation cockpit with a low-power and thermal profile as well as Qualcomm® Car-to-Cloud, allowing the end-consumer to have the latest features and capabilities through over-the-air (OTA) updates post-deployment and throughout the lifecycle of the vehicle.
