Murata unveils new power module for 5G and such wireless infra

Date: 13/10/2023
Murata launched the new MPQ600 power supply module featuring flexibility to meet demanding RFPA (Radio Frequency Power Amplifier) system design goals. The MPQ600 features a Vin range of 36-75Vdc, a Vout range of 14V to 35V designed to deliver high electrical performance with an efficiency rating of 96.5% or higher at full load.

The solution was designed, tested, and approved according to the IPC9592 industry standard for reliability requirements. It also has Pre-Bias protection in all conditions and precise line and load regulation. The MPQ600 has low output ripple and noise, and quickly responds to changes in load. It comes in a standard quarter brick package measuring 58.4 x 36.8 x 14.4mm (2.3 x 1.45 x 0.57 in). All I/O isolated MPS modules are designed to meet the IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 safety standards.

The MPQ600 module has extra functions like remote control for turning it on/off, remote sensing and trimming. It also has protection against low input voltage, high current, high temperature, and short circuits.

Moreover, it has a PMBus interface that lets users monitor input and output voltages, output current, and device temperature. The PMBusTM also allows users to adjust various operational settings such as output voltage, current limit, ramp rate, delay, soft start/stop, and optimization for stable operation in different conditions.
“Murata Power Solutions is proud to offer the MPQ600-28V21-D48NBMC modules to power systems architects around the world. We employ a highly rigorous reliability design and manufacturing process, advanced digital control platform with Murata’s proprietary firmware, providing the power system designer the tools for the next generation, high performance systems,” said Bill Smith, Sr. Product Manager, Murata Power Solutions.
