Automotive complaint 40V, 600mA sync buck converter IC from diodes

Date: 11/08/2022
The new automotive complaint AP64060Q is a 600mA synchronous buck converter IC from diodes can operate with input voltage range of 4.5V to 40V. This device packs 600mO high-side power MOSFET plus a 300mO low-side power MOSFET to deliver a power conversion efficiency up to 90%. This space-saving AP64060Q is suggested for use in automotive powertrains, infotainment systems, and instrumentation clusters, as well as vehicles’ exterior lighting.

With a low quiescent current of 90µA, AP64060Q and featuring fast switching frequencies of 2MHz requires smaller size inductors and capacitors. Due to synchronous rectification, this device saves the design from using external Schottky diode and also uses peak current mode control and built-in loop compensation network to reduce overall component count.

To cut down the high-frequency radiated EMI noise generated by MOSFET switching, this device uses proprietary gate driver scheme to alleviate switching node ringing without impacting on MOSFET turn-on and turn-off times.

TSOT26 packaged AP64060Q can operate in the ambient temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Protection features include overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and thermal shutdown.

AP64060Q is priced at $0.23 in 1000 piece quantities under available to order . It is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified, supports PPAP documentation, and is manufactured in IATF 16949 certified facilities.
