Bourns announced the UT-A Series, a new line of AEC-Q200 compliant high-temperature power wirewound resistors for automotive power systems. The series spans power ratings from 1 W to 10 W and resistance values from 10 Ω to 4.5 kΩ.
The UT-A Series has an operating range of −55 °C to +150 °C and tight resistance tolerances. AEC-Q200 qualification provides a documented reliability baseline.
Walter Garcia, Product Line Manager Resistors at Bourns, said: “Automotive power system designers need resistors that maintain their characteristics under sustained high-temperature loads, not just in brief transients. The UT-A Series is built for that environment from the wirewound construction that supports long-term stability to the AEC-Q200 qualification that simplifies their compliance path.”

Design features and key capabilities include power ratings from 1 W to 10 W and resistance values from 10 Ω to 4.5 kΩ; resistance tolerance options as low as ±1 %; standard TCR of ±30 ppm/°C; operation from −55 °C to +150 °C when used within applicable power derating limits; wirewound technology for applications exposed to transient energy; ceramic core, flame-resistant silicone coating, and all-welded terminations; and AEC-Q200 and RoHS compliance.
Target applications include energy and storage systems, industrial power supplies, inverters and motor drives, capacitor recharge and discharge circuits, voltage regulators, telecommunications equipment, and powertrain, braking, and power conversion systems.
The Bourns UT-A Series High-Temperature Power Resistors are available now through Bourns’ authorized distribution network. Full specifications and ordering information are available at www.bourns.com. Samples may be requested through Bourns Customer Service.
