Vector Introduces End-to-End SOVD Toolchain for Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics
Vector has introduced an end-to-end toolchain for Service-Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics (SOVD). The solution is intended for vehicle manufacturers and suppliers to test, evaluate, and integrate SOVD into next-generation vehicle architectures. The SOVD toolchain is available now.
SOVD provides a unified API for diagnostics in both software-based and traditional mechatronic vehicles. Vector has combined established and newly developed tools into a comprehensive SOVD toolchain. The complete solution covers all stages of development, from specification and validation to the implementation and use of SOVD in the vehicle. It can be adapted to different project requirements. The tools are integrated to support consistent implementation of the SOVD standard.

At the core of the toolchain is the new SOVD Explorer, a diagnostic tool for individual vehicle components as well as the entire vehicle. It is tailored to the SOVD standard and supports developers in using SOVD and in reading and writing vehicle data via SOVD. It provides access to all available SOVD API functions, a structured view of the vehicle’s status, and automation options.
Vector provides a three-step implementation model for SOVD. In the first step, SOVD con...
