TDK Expands Vibration-Resistant Capacitor Lineup with New 125 V Series and Upgraded 63 V Components

TDK has expanded its axial and soldering-star aluminum electrolytic capacitor lineup, adding new 125V-rated components to its B43693/B43793 series, covering 125V to 250V, and upgrading the existing 63V series, the B41687/B41787, which covers 25V to 63V. The update fills out TDK's product range to address growing demand for compact, high-ripple-current DC-link capacitor banks in systems running on battery voltages between 48V and 120V, commonly seen in small electric vehicles and micromobility platforms, as well as industrial equipment like forklifts, electric boats, and humanoid robots. A DC-link capacitor sits in the power circuit of an inverter, smoothing out voltage fluctuations to keep power delivery stable.
 
The new B43693/B43793 series is designed to eliminate the need to wire multiple capacitors together in series to reach higher voltages, since a single component can now handle higher DC-link voltages on its own. That simplifies the design of a capacitor bank and improves overall system robustness and efficiency. These capacitors can handle ripple currents, meaning the fluctuating current riding on top of a steady DC signal, up to 21.6 A, and can operate at temperatures up to +140°C.
