Toshiba Adds Four New Quad-Channel Digital Isolators to Reduce Power Consumption in Industrial Equipment

|

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has expanded its DCL34xx0B series of quad-channel standard digital isolators for industrial equipment with four new products. All devices in the series offer low current consumption of 0.2mA per channel (typical), come in a compact SSOP16 package, and support mid-speed communications.

The new additions include the "DCL340L0B" and "DCL340H0B," configured with four forward channels and no reverse channels, along with the "DCL342L0B" and "DCL342H0B," which feature two forward channels and two reverse channels.

In industrial equipment such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), actuators, and inverters, preventing equipment failure, fault propagation, and noise-related malfunctions is critical, particularly as device operating speeds continue to increase. Electrical isolation, which transmits signals between circuits operating at different voltage potentials, helps address these issues, driving demand for safe, reliable isolation devices that maintain stable performance in noisy environments. Alongside reliability, as equipment continues to shrink in size, isolation devices are increasingly expected to offer smaller footp...
