Vishay Introduces 34 PHE Multi-Turn Absolute Position Sensor with Hall Effect Technology
Vishay Intertechnology, has introduced the new Vishay Sfernice 34 PHE multi-turn absolute position sensor. The sensor uses non-contacting Hall Effect technology and features a 7/8 in (22.2 mm) diameter body. It provides linearity down to ±1% (full stroke), resolution of 1°, and a lifespan greater than 10 million cycles. The device supports linear or rotary displacement tracking with a total electrical angle of 3600° across 10 turns. It is available at a 40% lower cost than previous-generation devices.

The 34 PHE is designed for servo loop motion control systems and is targeted at industrial motor and actuator displacement tracking, linear actuators for solar panel tracking, flow control valve positioning, and throttle and pedal position sensors in agricultural machinery, railway equipment, and ships.
The sensor has an IP65-rated sealing and withstands vibrations up to 20 g and shocks up to 50 g. It includes integrated reverse voltage protection (-14 VDC) and overvoltage protection (+28 VDC). The device can be configured with single or dual analog ratiometric or digital (PWM) output signals. Dual outputs operate as oppositely-tracking position sensors for fault detection.
