New digital arch class D amp from ST for car audio
The STMicroelectronics FDA2100LV automotive power amplifier with full digital architecture, including digital input and a powerful diagnostics processor, helps minimize noise issues and reduce bill-of-materials by up to 50%, delivering the advantages of high efficiency class-D amplifiers for vehicle head units and sound boosters.
The FDA2100LV’s Full Digital Amplifier architecture with built-in low-radiation function, floating digital core, anti-cross conduction, and slope control minimizes tuner interference, enhances cellphone immunity, and simplifies compliance with EN 550251, ISO 11452-2 (2004)2 and all other emissions standards. In addition, ST’s patented and unique feedback-loop design around the output filter optimizes system performance in terms of electromagnetic interference (EMI), harmonic distortion (THD), and frequency response. This enables high audio performance using low-cost external components. The same design can drive different speaker impedance, such as 8Ω, 4Ω, 2Ω or 1Ω.
Joining the 4x50W FDA450LV and 4x135W FDA4100LV in ST’s Full Digital Amplifier family, already delighting many drivers all around the world, the FDA2100LV gives designers extra flexibility to create 2-, 4- or 6-channel configurations, or combine outputs as a single high-power channel down to 1Ω. As the industry‘s first digital-input automotive class-D family, these amplifiers connect ...
