ARM Cortex-A9 embedded Pico-ITX board supports Android and Ubuntu
VIA Technologies has announced the quad core VIA VAB-820 Pico-ITX embedded ARM board. Featuring a 1GHz quad core Freescale iMX6Quad ARM Cortex-A9 processor, the VIA VAB-820 is optimized for applications such as industrial, energy management and in-vehicle applications.
With the total power consumption of less than 7W, VIA VAB-820 is designed to operate in the temperature range of -20 to 70 degrees Celsius.
VIA VAB-820 features three independent, fully-integrated GPUs and capture-in support to make it suitable for surveillance and building access systems. Also has optional PoE (power over Ethernet) to support any such requirement.
The VIA VAB-820 is available with board support packages (BSPs) for Android and Ubuntu operating systems.
“The VIA VAB-820 delivers our most powerful ARM–based platform for customers to leverage in developing innovative new connected devices,” said Epan Wu, Head of the VIA Embedded Platform Division, VIA Technologies, Inc. “As a leader in hardware and software support, VIA provides our customers the fastest path to market with the availability of starter kits, customization support, or offering complete systems for different applications.”
