Current protection resettable PPTC thermistor
ProTek Devices has added to its family of overcurrent protection devices with new surface-mountable poly-switch temperature coefficient thermistor (PPTC) devices that include the company's first resettable PPTC thermistors. The new components are suitable for circuit protection in many applications such as automotive, mobile device battery packs, computer motherboards, and more.
The new components include the PMPS150-1812; PMPS150E-1206; PMPS200-1812; PMPS200D-1210; PMPS260C-1812; and PMPS380E-1206. These surface mount device (SMD) PPTCs are designed for overcurrent protection. Two series are also being introduced: the PLRO1206 and the PLRO1210, which are resettable SMD PPTCs for overcurrent protection.
The PMPS150-1812 comes in an 1812 size with a weight of 0.0476 grams. It features 1.50 amps maximum holding current, 3.00 amps minimum trip current, 24 volts maximum interrupt voltage. Maximum fault current is 20 amps, maximum time to trip current is 8.00 amps at 1.50s and, minimum / maximum resistance is 0.040 / 0.110 ohms. The PMPS150E-1206, in a 1206 size, weighs 0.0058 grams. The PMPS150E-1206 has 1.50 amps maximum holding current, 3.00 amps minimum trip current and, 8 volts maximum interrupt voltage. It has a maximum fault current of 100 amps, maximum time to trip current of 8.00 amps at 0.30s and, minimum / maximum resistance of 0.030 / 0.120 ohms.
