35 to 45 A rated DC to DC synchronous buck power blocs in 5X6 MM package

IRF has released DC to DC synchronous buck power blocs with a current rating of 45 A and 35 A. These power devices targeted for applications such as communication equipment, computer servers, graphic cards, desktop computers and portable computers. The IRFH4251D and IRFH4253D are the first devices of this family.

25 V rated IRFH4251D and IRFH4253D are packed in 5x6 MM PQFN package. Both the devices integrate monolithic FETKY employing leading-edge flipped die technology, which helps in dissipating heat faster and better to the ground layers of the printed circuit board. The new package also utilizes IR's single copper clip to reduce stray inductance and lower peak ringing. IR says these features help in selecting 25V MOSFETs instead of 30V.

“With its best-in-class silicon, and innovative features and packaging, the IRFH4251D and IRFH4253D Power Block devices offer industry leading power density for high performance DC-DC switching applications,” said Stephane Ernoux, Director of Marketing, IR’s Power Management Devices Business Unit. “The devices employ a more efficient layout that will define the new industry standard for DC-DC dual MOSFETs,” he added.

IRF says these devices Optimized for 5V gate drive applications, the IRFH4251D and IRFH4253D work with any controller or driver to offer design flexibility while delivering higher current, efficiency and frequency capability in a small footprint compared to alternative approaches using two discrete 30V power MOSFETs.

Availability and Pricing: Pricing for the IRFH4253D and IRFH4251D begins at US $0.89 and US $1.29 respectively in 10,000-unit quantities. Production orders are available immediately. Prices are subject to change
