Lightweight 50 V DC board-to-FPC automotive connectors from Panasonic

Panasonic has announced its new CF1 Series Board-to-FPC automotive connectors designed to withstand harsh automotive conditions such as high shocks, high vibrations and high-temperatures.

Lightweight 50 V DC Connectors can withstand temperatures up to 125°C and high vibrations typically produced in vehicles.

Flexible printed circuits connecting cables inside vehicles is increasing, to connect instrument panels, steering switches, rear lamps, shift levers, side mirrors, headlamps, and battery management systems. Panasonic's CF1 Series Board-to-FPC connectors meet the needs of automotive engineers who are looking to reduce the weight and avoid operator wiring failures caused by electrical wire connections.

Panasonic's CF1 Series Board-to-FPC can be directly connected without requiring any relay wiring harnesses when connected with FPC cables and boards for battery management systems. Panasonic's CF1 Series Automotive Connectors ensures higher contact reliability by using a double-sided clip contact structure.

Panasonic's CF1 Series Connectors are prevented from half mating by having an Inertia lock construction. A feature called "anti-misoperation bridge structure" is provided to prevent any unintended operation of the mating lock. The CF1 Series supports reflow soldering of the plug assembly along with other Surface Mount Devices without other processes.
