Radiocrafts wins two smart meter contracts in India

Radiocrafts AS said it has won two major contracts for supplying wireless mesh network RF module to two leading electricity meter manufacturers in India for use in their new smart meters.

Radiocrafts developed wireless mesh network module in partnership with TinyMesh AS, a Norwegian based software development company providing mesh radio protocols and cloud services.

Multi-hop, self-configuring and self-healing mesh networking protocol is packaged in a RF module of size 12.7 x 25.4 mm. This module enables two-way radio link to cover all utility meters in an area. Gateways connect the network to the internet for cloud based data storage.

Radiocrafts said it has already deployed over 300K units in India over the last few years. With the new contracts the number of units are said to be doubled.
