STMicroelectronics hosts IEEE workshop on advanced analog design

Date: 29/11/2013
STMicroelectronics hosted IEEE workshop on advanced analog design by eminent professor and industry veteran Dr. Michael H. Perrott from Silicon Laboratories. Dr. Perrott lectured on Analog and Digital PLLs (Phase-Lock Loops), VCO (Voltage-Controlled Oscillator)-based ADCs (Analog Digital Converters) and Simulation of PLLs aims at expanding the technical community’s design know-how in the analog domain.

Dr. Perrott received his PhD degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1997 with a thesis titled "Techniques for High Data-Rate Modulation and Low-Power Operation of Fractional-N Frequency Synthesizers.”

The ST-hosted workshop held on Dec 2 in Greater Noida aims to facilitate focused interactions between the distinguished IEEE lecturer and academia/students while providing them with an opportunity for a hands-on experience in PLL design presented by experts on PLL and frequency synthesis.

“It is a great privilege for STMicroelectronics India to host another high-profile IEEE activity to encourage further high-end semiconductor design research in the National Capital Region, as well as accelerate the technical growth of our engineers,” said Vivek Sharma, Regional Vice President, Greater China & South Asia Region – India Operations, Director India Development Centre, STMicroelectronics.

Dr. Rakesh Kumar, President IEEE-SSCS, said, “We are pleased to sponsor Analog and PLL design perspectives from the leading contributors for the benefit of attendees in the Delhi region. This is a key part of our global outreach efforts and I would like to express my sincere thanks to the organizers and to STMicroelectronics for hosting this event.”

The ST-organized workshop is co-sponsored by Freescale, Agilent Technologies, Synopsys, and India’s premier institute of engineering, IIT Delhi.
