Dish TV India and Tata Sky selects Broadcom's SoC for their STBs

Broadcom Corporation has announced two Indian companies selecting its chips to power their Set Top Boxes. The two companies are Tata Sky and Dish TV. Dish TV India has selected Broadcom's SoCs BCM7358 HD and BCM7301 SD SoCs for its direct-to-home STBs. Tata Sky to use Broadcom's BCM7301 SoC for its set-top boxes (STB) to enable Tata Sky's first MPEG-4 standard definition (SD) STB.

Indian STB market is suddenly growing very big from 2012 onwards and the fast-growth is expected to continue for another 2 years at least.
