De Core to soon produce white LEDs from its opto-semiconductor fab at Noida

De Core Science and Technologies with its expertise in designing optoelectronic application specific semiconductor devices using advanced material such as Aluminum Indium Gallium Nitride is soon to produce LEDs from its India's first advanced semiconductor fab (AlInGaN facility) at Noida Special Economic Zone, in the city of Noida. White LEDs need driver ICs to make them work. As per some of the media reports, De Core is also planning to establish semiconductor chip fabrication plant in Gandhinagar, Gujarat to make chips for driving LEDs. As per the reports this plant will also produce advanced chips for other electronic applications at later stage. De Core is the first company in India to venture on this kind of highly valuable and most needed facility in India.

De Core's Noida facility to produce cutting edge photonic crystal based nano-heterostructured white LEDs and blue lasers for the popular Blu-ray DVD players. The people behind this venture are Deepak Loomba, MD and CEO, Dr. S. K. Agarwal Chief Scientific Officer, DSTL, N.Delhi and V. M. Dhingra, Director and Chief Projects Officer, DSTL, N.Delhi.
