Qorvo offering a broad and complete 1.8 GHz DOCSIS 4.0 chips
Qorvo has launched what it calls as industry's most complete 1.8 GHz DOCSIS 4.0 product providing data speeds of 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) in downstream and 6 Gbps in upstream. This addresses the demand of today's home entertainment systems of higher downstream bandwidth and upstream capabilities.
Qorvo is already offering a complete portfolio of DOCSIS 3.1 devices and by moving into DOCSIS 4.0, Qorvo intend to enable cable operators and MSOs to upgrade their physical systems to meet the multi-gigabit speed demand.
Qorvo claims it is the first company to offer a complete and readily available 1.8 GHz product portfolio for DOCSIS 4.0. The portfolio has 30 products of high-output power doublers, drivers, pre-amps, return amps, VCA, DSA, switches and voltage variable equalizers making it a single source for DOCSIS 4.0.
Diwakar Vishakhadatta, Qorvo's general manager for High Performance Analog Infrastructure products, said, “Qorvo is the only company to support customers at every project stage of DOCSIS 4.0. Designers can start development today, optimizing their networks with high-performance products that are readily available from a single, trusted source.”
Qorvo says its new gallium nitride-based QPA3315 output amplifier is the world's first super-high-output, hybrid power doubler in production offering high RF output power.
Qorvo has the capability to support large volume demands to meet the economies of scale by producing and shipping large volumes of cable Pas (1 million per quarter) from its R&D, manufacturing and testing facilities in Nuremberg, Germany.
